Dash panel LED turn signals
Does anyone know if there is someone who has manufactured LEDs for the turn signals on the dash board? I have bought some LEDs for the instrument panel earlier this year that work great, but would like some for the turn signals.
Thanks

There are issues with the flasher for exterior turn signals, I suspect the same applies for the bulbs in the dash. Besides they're the only ones that are bright enough to begin with.

bcgreen,
If you do a wiring mod to make your turn signal indicators flash like a '84 on Carrera, it can be done. You will also need to replace your flasher with a solid state flasher, a EP26 works great. You can find these on line or at some auto parts stores. If you look at the wiring schematic for your car, find the blu/wht wires that lead from the indicator bulbs, which go to the flasher (which grounds them to make the indicators light when the flasher operates). These wires will need to be cut, then attach a female wire spade and attach to a ground point (I used one of the available ground terminals on the back of gauge). For the LED, I used T5 (#74) wedge square LED bulb, p/n 45356 (green) from ledlight.com. You can also get the flasher from there. If you decide to change your rear turn signal bulbs to red LED's, then you are ready to go because of the solid state flasher installation. You can also do red LED tail lights and a white LED for the back up lights. I have not found an amber LED front turn signal bulb that looks good/brighter than the original 1156/1157 bulbs.

When you cut the blue/wire leading to the bulbs, which side of the cut wire do you ground and what do you do with the other cut end? Johan

...or you can buy them from Superbrightleds! ...and they are plenty bright!
Also, I've done the requisite wiring mod. You won't need an electronic relay if you aren't using LED bulbs in your exterior lights.

Uwon,
The turn signal indicators Blu/Wht wires are daisy chained to each other and then there is one Blu/Wht wire that will lead to the flasher socket. The Blu/Wht wire that goes to the flasher is the one that needs cut and grounded. The other end of the cut wire (the flasher socket end) will not matter because by installing a EP26 flasher, that terminal is no longer used. You can insulate the end with electrical tape or a section of heat shrink.
