Help with year & model specs

Hi, im new to this forum and porsche.
I have been trying to research details of a porsche ive seen. I would like a little knowledge of the car.
I talked to the owner briefly, said it was an SC.
So neway, after researching a bit i know its a targa model.
It has the later style bumpers, with flared fenders at the rear and the big spoiler on the trunk. Naturally aspirated engine.

Anyone have an idea?

Welcome to the forum! SC's were produced from 1978-1983. Do you know what year the car is?

Welcome to the forum. As others have mentioned SC was the 911 model from 78-83. Prior to purchase, do all of your homework, find a reputable porsche shop that specializes in air cooled 911s to perform a pre purchase inspection since these are 30+ year old cars and I find out as much history as you can about the car(service records, etc). Post pictures and we might be able to assist you with value and details of the car.

That is a Porsche 964 Targa produced between 1989.5-1994. It has a 3.6l flat 6. NA motor. The black one above is an aftermarket widebody conversion, the red one is factory.

Well, if its an SC (as it appears), it has a lot of aftermarket modifications and you have a question or two to think about: do you want a modified car (look for huge wheel spacers, especially in the rear) and if you do want a modified car, are the modifications done to a high standard? It was common back in the 90s to slap fiberglass flares on these cars and 2-1/2" spacers and call it good. Fiberglass flares can separate from the fenders/quarters. If welded, steel flares can be lap welded (more robust, but more susceptible to corrosion) or butt welded)...

I think you'll find most people in the 911 community will think the modifications on this particular car dramatically decrease its value from stock.

Provide more information and you will get more. Posting pictures of the internet and asking questions based of that won't get you a answer. Mileage of the car, engine type, wide body or narrow? Etc etc etc

Both the black and red targa's in the photos are NOT 964's. They are both earlier cars with 964 style bumpers and rockers.

a VIN number or Photo of the actual car would help a lot.
