After some research and wiring digging I found after putting all the info of the donor car together that I probably have the rear part and wiring from an -85 turbo look car (I was told that it was an -83).

So with the right wiring diagram everything was a lot easier… All the colours in the rear connections to the engine is connected and every colour matched from the beginning. I also found the connections for the three cables in the front so no need to cut any cables :) I also started connecting all the gauges and I think that I got 99% of the functions to work, the last check would be when I start the engine.

Thanks for the wiring help so far!

I’ve done a lot of work but nothing that is interesting to show in pictures…

Light in front – OK
Hazard light – OK
Gauges connected – 99% OK
Engine harness – OK

Now it’s time for start merging the 911 rear light wiring to the 993 lights.

I’ve also dismounted the engine again to mount a new starter ring, the powder coated valve covers, new hub G50 sealings in the gearbox plus the new G50 hubs. After that is done its time for test start!! But the parts haven’t arrived yet…

I did a time lap video this Friday when I took the engine/transmission out. I’m staring ti get the hang of it, 35 minutes this time :)

Excellent work!

I wasn't sure on the color at first, but now I can't imagine it being anything other than green!

You're doing us Swedes proud! SmileWavy

parnelli 03-19-2015 02:06 PM

What color of green is that? Is that Viper Green?

Beautiful workmanship and attention to detail. Great skills!

My only 'question' would be on the cage. Not a fan of those bolted joins.
Also do you have any future plans to upgrade the motor? Up spec to an RS type layout or even turbo?

vansicklenmi 03-19-2015 03:35 PM

tell me about those blue oil line mounts!

My plan was Viper green but after a test paint the colour looked to “old”/pastel for the 993 body so I went with RAL6018 which is close to Kawasaki green (a little bit darker).

The joints in the cage are approved for racing but of course it’s not the same as a complete welded cage but this is not a pure race car ( http://finess.se/media/com_hikashop/upload/dsc_0452.jpg ). There will be a lot of summer cruising also! I have not decided what to with the engine yet. The first plan is to get the car approved and test that everything works before upgrading. A 3.6 or a turbo would be great. It is a light car so 300hp would be enough. If anyone have a upgrade for my engine for sale, let me know!

They are made for mounting the lines together to each other. I drilled the hole out so that I could attach them to the body instead. You can find them on ebay!

Thanks, I’m located in Göteborg.

It’s a lot ow work right now with the wiring to get the 993 lightning connected to the 911 wiring etc… Not to exiting to photograph ;)

Finally the hubs have arrived and have now been adjusted to the right length and G50 sealing in the gearbox.

New clutch, starter ring, sparkplugs etc. and the engine is now in the car again! Hopefully there will be a test start next week.

Excellent, fantastic, magnificent job, very well done!

Regarding the Porsche stickers I vote that you put them on, its a perfect match to your car.
