3.0 SC - Switching to 3.2 Carrera intake manifold and keeping CIS?
Hi,
I think my airbox is cracked and I'm thinking of replacing it with the 3.2 Carrera intake manifold but I haven't decided if I should do the EFI conversion or which one I'd do, so I'm wondering if I can just replace the manifold and keep the rest of CIS in place. Is this possible? Thanks, Michael |

Anything is possible, but this idea probably won't work, cheaper to buy a new air box.
Take a look at photos of both systems and then: Just think about where and how you would mount the mechanical fuel distributor with the air metering plate? And more...

964 Intake Manifold
I'm also wondering if converting to a 964 manifold might not be a bad idea, I can get one on ebay and the price doesn't seem to bad if I don't need to buy too much else?

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for getting back to me - yeah that makes sense. I'm just wondering how much of a 'system' I could reuse if I upgraded to a 3.2 intake/throttle body/injectors/DME. Same goes for a 964 system - I know I'd need the manifold adapters and I guess a EFI like the megasquirt but would I be able to reuse the rest, e.g. rails and injectors. I see you've done the EFI conversion, how's that working for you? Regards, Michael |

Check out the Bitz systems. Pretty simple to set up and uses modern EFI with good base map provided.
