Horrible Fuses!!
Hello,
I was checking the fuse box since I had problems with the rear light (FYI I opened/closed a post about) then I faced this (please see pic attached)...HORRIBLE!! Is it normal? On first fuse: the wire below the fuse is not well connected..so it could be the reason of my battery bleeding Second fuse: very poor condition...must replace it.. the strange thing is that circuit is for the hazard light that is not mounted on my '74 2700 911... ![]() PS: Please also note how generous was Porsche...some fuses are not connected to anything...but in case are ready to be!

Try hard to find ceramic replacement fuses. Don't bother with the cheap plastic core fuses available at the local auto parts store. Many different German cars used them in the past. VW is a good source for them.

Try this: http://www.amazon.com/Littelfuse-0GBC008-VP-Ceramic-Volt-Carded/dp/B000COA324
Or this: New company and new products. 'Classic Retrofit' 911 Fuse Panel and CDI+ ignition.

A lot of work to go through for a 20 cent fuse.

Our host sells the ceramic fuses. Given how faded in color yours are I'd probably replace all of them.
Seeing that you're in Italy, however, shipping from our host would probably be an issue...

I have been using BUSS type GBC glass fuses for over 25 years. They are pointed at both ends. My car sat for 10 years and on re-awaking, I have had no electrical problems. they come in 8, 16 & 25 amp ratings

Just plan on replacing all of them.
I found a couple of mine were the wrong ratings, bound to happen after plus 30 years.

New company and new products. 'Classic Retrofit' 911 Fuse Panel and CDI+ ignition.
These look like the best solution for all future problems. Takes some effort, but well worth it.

![]() Just clean the posts, tighten the wires and replace the fuses. Should be good for another 20 years. If the fuses are blowing, it is something else causing it.

That may be, but speaking from experience, you never know what creative wiring the PO did. In my case there were major loads connected straight to 12V, no fuses on either AC fan! A fire waiting to happen. Worn out is worn out, period.
I installed a panel from Fred Cook and am very happy with the result, but there are several options out there. Goodbye crusty old fusebox, hello Fred Cook!

While it may appear that there are many fuses without wires going to them, the 'input' side of the fuse box is bussed on the backside so only those fuses for features you don't have, power windows, sunroof, ac, etc are extra or spares.

Yes definetely not worth to buy ust few fuses...I'll take advantages of the situation to buy more stuff just to share the delivery costs..that's what I said to my wife (and to my conscience).
Very nice the Classic Retrofit items.

I got a couple sets of these (they're very nice german made ceramic) and replaced every fuse in the car. Clean the connections with some DeoxIT and ensure the spring action is tight.
