Where to start

OK here is the problem that I am having,
I can be driving along and the car stops running, like no fuel just stops running. Cranks over fine. I can pull over and wait and some times it starts back up, other time it take longer. I have a new fuel pump, thought that was the problem NOT.. where else should I look or test. Could it be the coil ? Fuel pump relay ? or is there something else I should be looking at.
seams to be getting worse, before seems like I had to be driving awhile but not now happened this morning 2 min into the drive. pulled over cranked a little started right back up.

Where to start looking....or replacing parts

It is a
1985 euro, 911, 3.2 , Stock

Fuel Pump
Alternator

dont replace parts .. trouble shoot ..

see if you have spark when i dies . also you dont state what car you are driving, that would help ..

helps to have a someone with you though to check spark ..

Try spreading the fuel pump relay pins with a razor blade and see if that helps.

I will guess that the DME fuel pump relay is starting to go.

while I agree with T77911s comment that you should not just replace parts, this sounds very similar to what happened to me when my dme relay started failing -- one thought -- locate the dme relay (under the driver's seat, small black plastic rectangular box behind the DME computer (the bigger silver rectangular box) and, when you next have this problem, give it a sharp tap and see if anything changes. The soldier joints on the relay will go bad over time and cause intermittent problems similar to what you're seeing.

At a minimum, since these can/do go bad and cause mysterious issues when they do, it's a good idea to pick up a second DME relay to have as a spare -- If you can find one locally/quickly, I'd start by replacing the DME relay and seeing if that doesn't fix your issue

The OEM is the only one to trust. The Uro part has been known to be DOA.

Here's a good basic no start troubleshooting guide.

Pelican Technical Article: 911 Carrera Engine Starting Troubleshooting

Once you rule out the basics, you'd be looking other things. I had a similar sounding no start when warm issue it turned out to be the speed reference sensors, there are also issues introduced with a bad CHT sensor.

if you can solder you may try hitting all the joints with an iron (soldering that is)

Fuel pressure regulator , car starts and seems fine then just stops
Cranks right back up like nothing happened.

When the regulator is bad it surges gas and the increase in pressure
The brain then shuts the car down. Use the Volvo regulator
Same part much cheapet.

Don't buy the hype it's a simple job
