Sending the 73 to the crusher
I'm done with this. My wife was right, it is a stupid car
And now my thread has hung. A fitting way to end a story Throwing a cover over it and digging out my old bicycle The end. ( For now. You know how I love adventures. I can't wait to see what I do next) ![]() Saving a 73 from the crusher...

That's brutal. Wayne. That car has brought you lots of ups and downs. If you were in Ottawa I'd buy you a beer (or more). Distancing yourself from it for a while is wise - don't want to do something you might regret. That car is special!

i use a 5 gallon bucket to sit on a lot. there has been many times my wife has looked out the window to see it being kicked across the yard.
i ahve learned to keep something of no value around to take out the frustrations. last week i picked up my creeper and slammed onto the ground because i got tired of a fair;ly new creeper not rolling. my shop vac is next. might as well have spikes in place of the wheels i am feeling your pain with the 930 right now. i had a 77s for 10yrs that does not have the time and frustration of one week of the 930.

I've messed up some of my engines before, I can relate to that feeling. Pull the engine, put it on a stand, and get started. You'll have it back on the road before you know it.

One time the wife came out to the garage and saw me lying under the 911 which was jacked up in the back. It had been fighting me all day and I was getting to the breaking point.
She said "what are you doing under there?" I said "hiding". I don't know what that meant, but I'm sure it meant something. |

Sometimes you just get burned out and its not fun anymore: When I started building my first plane in 1983 I packed it up for a year and a half mid term, got married, then finally flew it in 1989: The hard part is you get all the stuff that shows done quick then spend years on details that no one even can see.

It seems that I have been following in Jeremy's footsteps with this project.
He went with a 3.6, then sold his car Crystal ball anyone?

Wayner, you were the first to respond when I asked for advice on diving into a similar project. You gave great advice and your resto thread was a good source of info for me. I hope you stay with the car but if you don't, please stick around!
So, what do the experts say the noise is? Broken rod slapping? good luck,

I don't know that this has anything to do with anything, but I always feel better after I watch it.
I had a 928 from Hell once. I did get it to run pretty darned well in the end, and I drove it quite a bit. It was a good car. |
