Wife is on her way, so wine had better hurry up and chill!

I was optimistic though. I didn't get the plumbing done or toilette installed.

No matter. It was a good day and every good day should be celebrated or they just don't become worth doing

Fire is coming along nicely...

(Before anyone criticizes my choice of drinks though, I was recently in Nashville and left with two things I never had before. Cowboy boots, and a taste for Jack Daniels...)

Love both the 911 and the 914. It will be interesting to see what you do with the 914 now.

Since they both have the same front suspension pickup points, and there is a bar available for flat towing a 914 that attaches to those points one could tow the other to the track and the other could tow back. If something goes wrong I'll have spare car there and a backup to get home

I can't wait to see what I will do next...

But I also have these for it in 17" with modern rubber
Gotta swap in a set of 911 axles and 5 bolt hubs.

Thanks!
From that picture I don't think they work very well on a silver car, at least from that angle.

I'll sell off the wheels that it came with to the VW guys.
I have two sets of cookies in 15", and I have the rims above basically for the price of the tires that came on them. With that logic I could use up the tires and then throw away the rims when they are done

Given that wheels are just bolt on its pretty easy to not spend a lot of time on worrying about it though. One of the things that I want to do with the 914 is build it to a limit budgets, but there still are some wheel decisions to make.

One of the things that attracted me to this car aside from being cheap is that it had a bunch of the more expensive mechanical bits done to it in terms of engine work etc, so I am on track for an inexpensive fun little build.

I plan to finish the cookies like the rims on this silver car (The centre shape isn't as important to me as the colour so probably bright hoop black centre to show off the depth)
and the 17s look good on this black car for when I need better rubber, or just a different bolt on look when my mood calls for it.

I'm not sure the silver 17s look good on a silver car though, so I may either change the colour of the rims or change the colour of the car. For that I am open to ideas.

Another interesting project to follow you on!

I always liked (not loved) 914s and thought they looked frumpy, especially compared to a 911, but that black one is awesome. It just looks perfect, especially with those wheels.

I think that black car is the Jack Olsen build of the 914 world.

This orange one is a test fit that I did on another car while I was there at his shop
(lots of other silver cars around there right now)

I'm probably going to farm out some of my 914 welding to them this time around while I focus on my 911.
Mike has a new metal guy that I recommended, and he not only does very good work but he's fast, so its not worth my time to spend days doing what he can do much better in an afternoon.

P.S.

(That orange car is the one with the bare metal flares that popped up earlier in my "saving" thread when I helped shape them during an earlier visit.
I'll get back to saving the 73 911 content very soon)

Wachuko, Tweaks, 911T, what do you think, silver or orange for the 914 body?

Silver or orange? They both look great - it's a matter of personal taste! Don't ask me - I'm colour-blind and most of my stuff is either grey, black or silver!

What a difference color makes....

Black and Orange with the 993 wheels actually looks good...

Please, do not ask me what color I like.... I will always say orange... The RSR I was planning painting that color...it ended up blue... The RS, also...ended up a gray-blue (but I will install orange stripes darn it!!)... My next project? Yeah... I want it orange but will end up Vesuvius Metallic....

So between silver and orange? Orange all the way!!!
