No progress for the next few days.

Stuck in the arctic. No flights in or out...

A very different perspective of the world from up here. This is the globe as viewed from a northern perspective, rather than a typical side view or North American perspective.

Clockwise
White is greenland,
Red is Canada,
Pink is Alaska
Green is Russia

the next land mass as you head back towards the Atlantic ocean Sweden and Norway
That little tiny island to the right of greenland is Iceland

From my home, Miami is a 3 hour flight directly south.
I am a 3hour flight directly north of my home.
(thats a six hour flight directly north of Miami)

There is more Canada above the US border
than there is US below the Canadian border.

Vikings have been rumoured to have made it to the Canadian prairies.
If they were more adventurous they could have almost made it to North Dakota.

Three hours north, closer to Greenland, north of Hudson's bay

For a guy like me, sitting around waiting to get back out is driving me nuts!
So I do what I always do. I started another project...

Not a car. That would be dark
Writing project this time. Me and my laptop stuck in a hotel with nowhere to go

P.S.
My hen scratch is always better when I am actually looking at the page I am writing on. Thats the note I left myself last night so that this morning I would know where I left off.

Believe me, I really want the 911 project to move forward as well!

Chris told me the pistons are in but still waiting for the twin pug distributor
Meanwhile I can't even manage to get home to begin mounting the CDI boxes, so I am writing instead.

As for the writing, I'll send you an autographed copy once it comes out.

Meanwhile, weather has cleared. Cross my fingers that the flight goes out tomorrow.
This was at the airport around noon. You can tell it is around noon because of how high the sun sits in the sky this time of day up here.

HA!
Try -47c.

-40 is the same in both languages. After that Fahrenheit starts winning.

-47c = is -52F

Kinda puts that first picture at the top into perspective huh?

I know, it's a bloody heat wave this week.

-60c is more the norm.

I figured with all the turmoil in the world right now what with the US election and such, I'd come up here to a higher vantage point where I could get a better view of the world from above

Well, locals are looking forward to the warm weather in March when the temperature get up into the minus teens.
Somehow my garage back home won't seem so cold. +10 will probably be T-shirt weather for me!

I'm looking forward to going home.

One way or another I'm gettin outa here today!

And for a less subtle difference, here is the old Max Moritz style piston that these are replacing.

(These pistons would be perfect for someone who is keeping their CIS system on their 3.0. They have next to no hours on them)
