Just read through this whole thing and I'm glad I did. I remember meeting you when you brought this car out to the Reeves gathering for the first time. I used to work for them in the Motorsports shop. Such a beautiful car! I just picked up a 87 Carrera with a similar body styling.

Holy cow! HUGE thanks to Ralph at Hollywood Speedometer. Check this out!
Complete rebuild on all 5 gauges including glass, bezels, rubber gaskets, calibration, painted needles and LED strips inside each gauge. Oh yeah and a few other little tricks/conversions! Heuer clock face conversion (small spec of dust on the outer glass) 220MPH Speedo and miles reset to 0 for Mike Bruns new engine and tranny! Temp gauge numerical conversion Gas/oil gauge Last but not least! The Miami blue 10K tachometer!!!! Doesn't look Miami in the pictures but trust me it is! The complete ensemble

Beautiful gauges! How long was the wait? When I called it was over 4 months IIRC.

They had them done faster then i had the money ready, LOL. Ralph is great, give him a call for exact times. Mine were ready in about a month.

Gauges are in, not pushed all the way in because engine/tranny is not in the car yet. So left them out a bit just to make sure they all work before we push them all the way in. But you get the idea, the color is a dead on match. Thanks again to Ralph at Hollywood Speedo, he did a great job.
Also lifted the fire extinguisher mount a few inches because it was to low. Before it sat between the seats so tight you couldn't put the nozzle on it. No Bueno.

May want to check that you can shift ok with the fire extinguisher there...looks like it is in a bad position to me. Those are not forgiving to elbows, etc.

Have the car home now from all of the suspension and extra side work. Just waiting for the engine and tranny.
Removed the 3.3 badging. If anybody wants this, I will sell for $100 shipped. paid $150, custom made overseas. Im liking the clean grill look, so wont get a "3.6" badge. Here is another couple pictures. You can see the rear Bilstein sport shocks and the freshly powder coated rear trailing arms. I have new Rennline moonball rear bushings in the trailing arms. You can also just see the freshly powder coated caliper. Also nice pic of the Miami blue engine bay. Red calipers with "PORSCHE" script behind the Fikse Fuchs.

Had a cool experience yesterday. I have a friend that owns a wide body RWB custom built car. He called me and said that Akira Nakai San was in town and building another RWB and I was invited to check it out. I know its not everybody's favorite but it was very cool to see the process. Not my fav color but still a great day with free beer and food as well.

I'd be more excited to want to sit down and talk with Nakai san. To me, he's like the Anthony Bourdain of cars... LOL!

Glad to hear Mike Bruns is still around and has his hands in those old Porsche engines. He helped me build my twin plug 3.0L. It has been bullet proof !!!

LOL, just enjoy it for what it is as is. They are great cars and very fun in stock form. Im an idiot for doing this. I could have a brand new 991.2 in Miami blue with 420HP, ice cold air and all the Tech goodies for what I have in this bare bones car. UGGGG..
