Muffler

Question. Are the Mandel bends and piping all stainless? Is the muffler itself stainless or aluminum? I’ve got mixed message about mixing stainless and aluminum together that aluminum will crack over time. I thought the Dynomax is aluminum? Thanks for sharing. Awesome again. |
The muffler is stainless just not polished and the pipes i believe are stainless. I will double check. If i remember right Summit sells the pipes to. Mike Bruns did the pipe work from headers to muffler, maybe he can chime in. Speed syndicate did the tips from muffler to bumper outlets, I will ask them what they did.
Check Summit out for the muffler description model 17231.Here is what i see “Muffler, Ultra Flo Welded, Dual 2 1/2 in. Inlet/Dual 2 1/2 in. Outlet, Stainless Steel” * best part is price $125 |

The unit is stainless. Stainless pipes.

The pipes connecting the headers to muffler are 2.5" mandrel bent 304 stainless, the muffler is a stainless alloy of some sort, nice quality construction, fits well, sounds great, power drop is minimum on this level of power, some we have tested are loud, hurt power and create a tuning nightmare.

Not to steal this thread but this is for Mike.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1567804986.jpg Do you remember this old girl, with her garage mates. That 3.0L you helped me build now has 22.000 miles (car just went over 244.000). Just a few upgrades since you saw her. Raised Bilstiens, SC front calipers and a little stripping. |

People often ask me what is my opinion on my favorite Porsche. I tell them not to make it something it isn't designed to be. The best way to have a fun car is the biggest motor in the lightest car. Even a stock 3.6 on a 915 in light car is an absolute blast. I put my first 993 motor in an SC on a 915 in 1996's I remember it like it was yesterday. William Knight

I like how you did the smile on the front between the bumper and body.
Is it one piece? Source? |
