Dear Mr. Donkin,
Thank you for your e-mail and interest in Griot's Garage. This is an interesting question that you have posed to me so I've gone straight to the big wigs for an answer. What I have found out is that the mechanical fuel injection that was in the car from the factory was removed at one time. In its place carburetors were installed to regulate the fuel and air mixture on Richard's 1972 911S. I hope this information will be helpful.
