Checking my work...

How deep does the shift rod seal should be inside the transmission housing?
It is for the 915 in my 86 cab.
I'd hate to put the engine/transmission back in the car only to find a leak.

Also, where can I find the 2 bullet nose connectors that plug onto the reverse switch? Mine came loose when I unplugged everything upon removal.

That should not adversely affect the functionality of the seal.

I think you may want to polish the shift fork shaft wherever it contacts that seal. If it is rusty and rough, it is going to leak. In fact, clean up the whole shaft and apply some lubrication before you put the fork into the housing. Any sharp edges will cut up the sealing surface of the seal as you slide the shaft into it.

The plan is to remove all burrs, rust, and imperfections before reassembling.
Good call on lubing the clutch fork; I didn't even think of that.
