Sensor on Chain housing cover

Hello everybody - I just have a quick question. Im upgrading to carrera Chain tensioners but just realized the driver side chain cover is missing the hole for the temp. switch. Im wondering if this switch is necessary or can i delete this - if delete how should wiring be handled ? I have a 1977 with CIS.
Thanks a lot guys
Søren

You sure there isn't a plug of some type where it should go?
Mine had one when I swapped over to the hydraulic tensioners.
Flip both over to look at the internal side and compare them.

the sensor on the drivers side chain cover is the thermo-time switch that provides 12VDC/activates the cold-start injector. if you are running CIS.....you need it .

regards,
al
