Hub removal from trailing arm
Hi All!
I'm working on my 71 911T restoration. Now I am removing everything from the rear trailing arms. I have solved everything but the wheel hub. How do you get it out? Do you use a press from the backside? Or is there another way? Thanks for any input! Jörgen Forssling Göteborg SWEDEN |

I used an old torsion bar as a drift and pounded it out.

Big slide hammer. BSH. Easier with the arm still mounted on the car.

I used a press as I had the arm off the car. The inner bearing race usually comes out with it.

Rear hub removal.......
There are several methods people use for removing the rear hub/s successfully. Your choice would depend on the availability of the tool you like to use. With the trailing arm removed, a hydraulic press is best used. In situ, a big slide hammer, harmonic gear puller, BFH, etc. would be your choices. Take your time and be patient removing the rear hub. In my case, I have all sort of tools (press, slide hammer and puller, etc.) that I tried and used to remove the rear hubs in the past. After you have removed one, the next one would be much easier and less challenging.

Thanks All!
The arm is off the car so I'll go to a friend with a press and work from there. //Jörgen |
