Ruf has been around for much longer and not even comparable to Singer on so many levels.

Would not kick either out of bed for eating crackers, but I'll take a Ruf (the light gray one) if you're buying! Sublime in every way!

The RUF will be titled as RUF, not a Porsche. RUF is a manufacturer.

Singer makes a great car, but I think you end up registering their car as a 1989 Porsche 911.

The Singer is not going to go 200 MPH like the RUF. I would love to own either.

Rhe ruf yellowbird was a dream car to me as a child. They have some pretty cool offerings... But i think their market is different to singer.

Singer is NOT on the level on Ruf. Yes, attention to detail, Singer wins, but Ruf makes such an all around performer.

RUF hands down. Singer will never be a competitor of RUF. They aren't after the same goals and frankly I would rather spend the money on a RUF 911 than a Singer-restored Porsche 911. Singer is after them looking good... sure that is neat and all, but 911s were meant to be driven, not looked at.

No offense to any of the previous posters, but I think this is apples and oranges so I would agree they are not "comparable." RUF has been around longer and has always been performance-minded, but I don't think Dickinson was trying to compete in the same market as RUF. It seems to me the Singer approach is similar to that of any number of previous backdates, but done so to the nth degree. The fit, finish and attention to detail is stunning to my eyes. Furthermore, the mechanicals seem to be damn nice, too. Again, not the pedigree of RUF, but I don't think that was their sole purpose.

The Rufs are either overstyled or just don't have a "flow" to the lines. I think most home-made hot rods here look better. They have the fancy suspension on the one with the water cooled motor but Singer's got carbon panels and an Ed Pink built big block air-cooled flat 6. Singer would be my choice between the two, but I'd still rather roll my own.

RUF, pedigree with proven & established reliability, durability mastering of very high performance re-engineered Porsche vehicles. (Porsche) a foundation in its own well appreciated to begin with. Singer, we'll see if time, well used & abused, weathered & worn, problem free accumulation of high mileage syncs with the ever enduring Porsche blood line that will reveal another superior tuner on what is already considered by many to be a great platform to start & play with. For me, RUF is accomplished that right of passage as a true legend making history. So.....if anyone needs to put 1/2 million kilometers on their Singer, let me know, I'll be glad to rack up those miles & report back...tho I WILL need a real RUF to do a proper comparison

I would love to have the 1/2 body sculpture near the beginning of the movie. I think I could find a place for it.

My 2c, also:

Ruf can out-singer a Singer but Singer will not out-ruf a Ruf...

Mostly 2 different markets that slightly overlap.
