I had a boxster and then I raced a 914 for a while so just got in the habit of using the term. And like I said above, it's also fun to say.

I used this term over on ESR and got flamed for it. It's just lingo so I don't understand why people purposely hyper-focus on a word, as if they don't understand what I'm referring to or it makes them so enraged they can't answer my question.
Those guys aren't very friendly.

It's funny how this piece of the car used to be a throwaway and could be had for pennies on the dollar in the not too distant past. Now the "period correct" purists and wacky market pricing of these cars have driven this piece of fiberboard up to $500? That's nuts.
I recently gave one away (yes, free) to Pelicanite dtw Dave for all the good service he's provided in selling me good used parts over the years. I'll keep doing just that for other people in need, until there's a lot less of these cars in the world. When parts for these cars become a lot more rare, which I don't see happening any time soon, then will I put a higher value on these parts. Right now I just can't see how this thing is $500. There's thousands of them available from dismantlers or folks with a stash of parts collected over the years. I sold another part, no longer available new from Porsche, to a fella for $32 shipped. It's the magnet ring inside the 915 trans that triggers the speedo sensor. What should I have sold that for? $500?
