That crank is a work of art.

DRACO A5OG 12-29-2016 06:06 PM

David Eden, owner of Marine Crankshaft, Inc, Santa Ana remarked how good the crank held up with all the miles on it and asked if I changed the oil allot, I just smiled.

Good news indeed J!.. 'Turbo tough' cranks as they say eh! :)

BTW, Lyle O rebuilt his engine this year, and it was really done well. He put some very neat stuff into it; he also had the head work done by a very well known speciality shop that, if I recall, is in CA...You may want to drop him a line. He now has a real mint 'screamer'

jlex 12-30-2016 06:59 AM

Did they magnaflux the crank when they had it?

DRACO A5OG 12-30-2016 07:38 AM

Nope, I asked but he thought it was not needed after I told him the history of the car's use. He said he is more than happy take my money if I really wanted to. :D Plus he handled it personally as I was watching. Very Cool.

jlex 12-30-2016 08:31 AM

Sounds like a good guy. Have a great New Year!

KTL 12-30-2016 03:16 PM

Glad to pass along the recommendation after the fantastic job Marine did on my SC 3.0L crank

DRACO A5OG 12-30-2016 05:56 PM

David removed the gears, no biggy, used Wayne's oil bath method, SOLD, what a great technique both gears and spacer plopped right in. The Snap In Ring, what a PITA, order the proper tool for the job.

Thing of note, the brass sprocket does not have an "X" per Wayne but it did have the Porsche logo, luckily the snap in ring shadow was still there to confirm proper fitment.

That's after I wear my skinny boy jeans working on the car, :D:D:D

Ollie's, nuttin yet. They are so freakin busy, when I visited, I swear I counted about 50+ cases in line in front of me, and maybe 30+ head sets, 2 dozen Cylinder Piston Sets.

Tim promised he would get me measurements last week, but I know he couldn't so I am hoping this week.

Price wise, not cheap but not crazy either. I am praying for good news and bad to go 3.4L

DRACO A5OG 01-16-2017 09:09 PM

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1484629585.JPG
