replacing Key Head w/light?

Can someone tell me how to change out my key heads?
I bought a couple new ones, as the current ones are falling apart (button missing, etc..)

How do I remove the key shaft off the head and put it in the new one?

I can see how to remove it.

Thanks!

There is a square tab that needs to be slid to the side the the key will release if PO did not glue it in.

Thanks... you gave me some insight on what to look for (search for).

Found the following : Porsche 911/914 Porsche Key Head Replacement | 1965-1989 | Pelican Parts DIY Maitenance Article

The only difference is that to put the new key head on, you don't need to take the key head apart along with the slider you mentioned.... it slides in and the spring clip catches it automatically to keep it from coming back out.

I don't think PP sells the LED one, get that on eBay.

To this I would add:

1. Replace the bulb with an LED.

2. Add two 1.5v batteries.

Gerry.

I wasn't happy with the conversion as the batteries quickly discharged.
