I couldn’t find it in the thread - could you mention who makes your duck tail?

Did some dyno tuning yesterday with Andrew and Tom from Rasant Products, they built the engine management system. You can check them out at Rasant Products they are great to work with and offer a very nice product that is aggressively priced. They had done some tuning last week driving the car around their shop in Huntington Beach, today was to fine tune the car and see what power it was making.
We started with a baseline run that came in at 307hp. Next was there "Rasant Magic" and setting all the values thru the rev range, it took a couple hours from start to finish.

By the end of the day we walked away with 328hp at the wheels and 268 lbft. I don't know if the numbers tell the whole story though. We went to drive it after just to make sure it was as drivable as the dyno was saying. The car just performs, throttle response is right there, the torque literally comes on and does not stop until you get the next gear.

Redline is 7400 but the motor is all in by 6800 which is really nice on the street. Mark Kinninger built the motor and he set the cam timing for a strong mid range, which I believe is the right way to go for a street car. He says we are leaving horsepower on the table at the top end but it would be at the expense of drivability. I am willing to give up a few or a lot on the top to give me better driving experience on the road. Motor is 3.8L RSR spec, from the numbers we were right in the ball park with the factory 3.8 RSR making 380hp at the crank.

I am super happy with the great professionals working on the car, thank you guys!

Congratulations on the car and those impressive numbers! The car must feel really powerful on a twisty road :)

What sort of engine management are you running?

kent olsen 11-19-2017 03:01 PM

What kind of Dyno is that? Never seen anything like it

JJ 911SC 11-19-2017 04:41 PM

Look like a Hydraulic Dynamometer.

Engine management was done by Rasant Products using AEM Infinity ECU

The dyno said Dyna Pack, I had never seen like that before either.

Congrats Dave. Those are some very tasty numbers.

panzerfaust 11-20-2017 06:32 AM

wonderful lookin motor and nice number!

thats a proper load bearing dyno which is great for tuning and not the more typical inertia based dynojets you see everywhere.

You went to the right place. The Church guys are awesome. That's where I tune, as well.
