'02 3.6 ticking sound

The car has been sitting for two weeks and it's cold here. I started it this morning and I hear a ticking sound from the lower right, valve, spark plug area. It sounds just like a lose valve adjustment (but not this engine year?) or lose spark plug. Speeds up with engine speed. I'm in a time crunch and just needed some ideas so I don't waste time.
Thanks

Possibly loose exhaust/exhaust manifold/H.E.s too.

To confirm it is not tapping, use a long screw driver and put it to you ear and suspect area. HF stethescope would be better.

Go buy a cheapo cigar and blow smoke around the area look for air disturbance.

My 2 cents,

very likely a lifter that hasn't pumped up
this is often caused by
cold
sitting
heavier wt oil
old oil
lifter seals going or gone bad

if it's an '02 911 3.6 it wants 0w-40 M1

I believe the problem is solved. I did the screw driver trick and could not pinpoint anything. It was near the front of the engine so I pulled the coil and plug and seamed OK. Put it back together and went for a short drive and I don't hear it anymore. I think Bill may have gotten it. A lifter that needed to get pumped up which maybe the reason I could not hear with the screw driver (it's deeper inside?).
Thanks for the responses. I sold the car and the guy will pick it up tomorrow and I want it to be perfect with no issues.

Yeah, I've had sticking lifters in my old 996.

Give it an Italian tuneup.
