I’m looking to buy new rims and tires for my 88 930, I was thinking of getting 17” LM BBS rims with Bridgestone Potenza s-02 tires? Does any one have this set up or have pictures of there car with rims on it?
Or have any other ideas of what kind of rims I can get? I do like the deep dish look on the rear wheels and I’m not sure the BBS has that, does anyone have any pictures of there rims they think look good or any ideas. Also where can i buy then at a fare price. Thanks BOB |

I like the look of Fiske FM10's on 911's and 930's. They are similar to the look of the BBS.

The BBS LM are certainly nice wheels, as are Fikse and Kinesis competitors. A consideration that is often ignored until after the fact is "How much effort will go into cleaning the wheels?"
Porsche owners are spoiled by the ease of keeping black center Fuchs clean. If you have lived w/ some of the more complicated current wheel designs you know how difficult they can be to keep looking good. The deep dish look is a function of o/s(less (+) o/s = more deep dish) . If you discard the standard TUV approved(Porsche went to a great deal of trouble to get this approved) spacers which the 930 uses you can go w/ much less positive o/s for a deeper dish look. Talk it over w/ the wheel builder first they will be able to supply the o/s that will be appropriate w/ or w/o the use of spacers.

How about something like this? Nice deep dish, light strong, easy to clean, can be painted any color.

I 2nd what Bill said about cleaning. The FM-10's are horrible to clean! They have corners that are very hard to clean. I don't think any of the other Fikse designs have that "feature". Ruf wheels are snap to clean but very heavy.

Fuchs look good:
![]() Click for a larger version. 2-Piece wheels with Fuchs centers can be as big as 9.5x11x17 and cost $1700 a set. Deep enough? ![]()
