Hooo wee that one head with the toasted valve is ugly. Lucky that valve head didn't snap off and beat up the head, piston and cylinder. Lotsa leakage below that head too. How many broken studs did you guys find?

This should be your goal! Mark & Preston did this for me last year and about 20 other major projects on this and other Porsches. I have known Mark since TruSpeed and he is my go to guy.

Hey Fellas,
Sorry for the lack of updates. We'll get back on track in the next week or so and things should move pretty quickly. I had a motor issue with my Honda and decided to go through the interior (or lack thereof) and sort of re-debut it at our annual Eibach Meet. Like most of my projects it quickly spiraled out of control.... We'll be giving the 911 the same interior treatment minus the cage... http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...or%20ITR_1.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...zeRender_1.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...odoo/ITRHM.jpg |
Couple quick updates:
- Len at Sleepers Speed Shop has finished design for a new adjustable spindle and we'll be building a coilover to mate it to. Should be a very nice setup! - Based on a thread in the engine building forum I've shipped my heads to Craig Garret to be rebuilt and upgraded with Eibach valve springs. We'll also be utilizing a pair or cams from Web. - We're off to paint in a couple weeks as the engine gets re-assembled! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1497301120.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1497301120.JPG |
Craig is almost finished with the heads. Now I'm starting to acquire all the pieces for the bottom end rebuild.
Rather than spend $1,000 on a new OE oil pump, I spent half and went with a rebuilt ported and polished pump from GT Series 1. http://www.gtseries1.com/ http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499806108.JPG |
Heads
Craig just finished a set of heads for my current 3.0 build. He does very nice work. You will be happy...

Quick update!
Heads are back from Craig and they are amazing. He was fantastic to deal with. I'll be running the Closed Course Motorsports ITB manifolds and Craig was kind enough to port match the heads. Super guy! We also installed Eibach valve springs. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1503416793.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1503416793.JPG In an effort to shed some weight we're ditching the F/R bumpers, side skirts and SC tail. They ended up weighing 150lbs. They have been replaced by units from TRE Motorsports that really fit well. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1503417018.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1503417018.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1503417018.JPG |
