1986 911 4 speed turbo - no spark

hello everyone. i am new here and am helping a friend who has a 1986 911 4 speed turbo. one day he was driving and the car cut out. would not start, so he went to the engine see if he could get it going and all he did was wiggle some wires that go from the ignition to the distributor ( the green one) it ran and got him home.

now it will not run at all. i have jumped the fuel pump relays to see if it was the fuel pumps they both turn on. so we crank the car.. still nothing. now theres no power from the green wire going to the distributor. it has new relays in also new ignition black box.
pulled a spark plug out it sparks once then quits won't do it again.
one more thing as its cranking over it turns over then it will like just STOP very slow then carry on turning over.

please will some one point me in the right way to go here. much much thankful to you all. thanks

there is just no power going to the distributor from the green wire. the ignition unit has power from the red and white wire but that is all. so confused on this..

After wiggling, did he replace the green wire, very common for these to fail.

Can you hear the CD ignition box whine when the ignition is switched on?

No crank sensor on an 86 that I know of.
Is it still running the original silver Bosch CD unit?

As has been pointed out there's no power from the green wire. That's the signal from
the distributor pickup. You might want to check for continuity to the distributor
at the plug on the ignition box-since that green harness is prone to fail.
I'm goin to say you're looking for around 500 ohms but dont quote me on that.

Turbos use CIS fuel injection and are like the SC but have two fuel pumps. It's all about fuel pressure and spark, green wire or CDI box.

If it's not whining like my ex with ignition on, it's likely the box. Even if it is whining it could the box. Contact Ingo Schmitz on this forum, he is the man.

Check the 930 forum, lots of info there, and a thread just on this subject :

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-930-turbo-super-charging-forum/547032-sticky-common-answers-why-my-car-doesnt-start.html

In particular, post #64 from Billjam has an excellent electrical diagram and how to bypass most of the things that can fail :
