Ok, we now have "spotty" email and internet access on base.
Pretty amazing actually. So I am being "Beamed" to you all through a satellite. Everything is well here, there is allot going on. I have a mailing address (APO) so you all can have your wives mail me cookies !I am going to "email" it to Superman, and he can distribute it to whomever. I just can't post it on the web. Well, I hope all is well back in the real world, and if this connection holds, I'l talk to you all soon, Regards, Leland |

Leland,
Great to hear that you are OK and doing well. Hope the "class six" is open and well stocked. We had a T-1 satellite connection when I was in the area and it worked well, so glad to hear that you are back online again. Superman, pls email apo address to: joeksa@csi.com Will send some Porsche magazines to Leland so that you know what to do when you return! Take care, Joe |

Great to hear you are safe. From what I hear things are starting to get a bit more heated up with ground troops. You and your fellow soldiers are doing a great job. I just want you to know we all are very gratefull to each of you.
The SC World Domination is getting stronger. Since you left, we had several members join in the cause. God bless and get home safe. ------------------ Paul 78SC Targa Pelican Parts Members Gallery |

Wow, an internet hook-up in the back corner of the planet. It makes the world not seem so huge.
Keep yourself safe, Leland. You've got a worldwide empire to run when you get back. I just put SC rockers on my car in your honor, man. ![]() ------------------ Jack Olsen My Rennlist page • My Pelican Gallery page • My Porsche Owners Gallery page |

Also, Leland, have you got the 911 and Porsche World feature on buying a used SC? It was from August, I think. Got mine in the UK and I'll post it on to you if you haven't got it. Let me know if you can -- it features a really nice early SC in it too.

Leland, we ALL enjoy your posts! Keep 'em coming...you help lift our spirits during these times more, I think, than we do yours. Superman? Send the APO to me, okay? I'll think of something to send, though I'd have to warn you about Cindy's cookies...you might as well tape them to your waistline, avoid the chewing & swallowing exercise. I'm living proof!
Idea, guys... I read somewhere that the old operation Dear Abby, a mailing thing to troops in the field, has been canceled because of obvious reasons. But, maybe we could send Leland some general "care" packages from home, he hand 'em out to guys there not getting goodies from the USA? Leland, let us know if this could work. Best, Paul Edit PS: Leland? You like stogies? [This message has been edited by pwd72s (edited 10-21-2001).] |

Leland,
Glad you're doing fine and even have access to internet on base. I think your SC world domination is getting too big, too fast. You'll have to hurry back and take control. Superman, send me Leland's APO address also. Anyone know how long it takes for mail to get to APO addresses? If I send it priority mail, am I to expect he'll receive it in 2-3 days? ------------------ Jeff 1976 911S Coupe [This message has been edited by Rufblackbird (edited 10-21-2001).] |

Ruf,
APO mail is at the mercy of the military and how much stuff its flying in that direction. If the C141 is full of important stuff, then it waits until space is available in the next airplane. Do not waste your money on Express as its not worth it for APO mail. Regular first class used to get to me in Saudi in a week via APO system but that was not when a full blown war was going on! I'll be proud and flattered to distribute Leland's address to any and all Friendly Forces. but I have not received e-mail from Leland, or anyone else except Randy Jones. I wondered why he was asking me for Leland's address. I will check work e-mail tomorrow, but I don't think Leland has my work e-mail address. FYI, I am at "jimc@thurston.com"
It so happens I like to bake cookies, breads, pies, etc., which is probably an odd hobby for a superhero that weighs under 170#. I'll see what I can do. ------------------ '83 SC |
