Very nice Scooter, and not too many cabs done either.
Ah, the Bluebird.....:D

I have seen one cab fitted out with the RUF kit in Germany, he was honking out of Dusseldorf - I did wonder though?????

Where did you get the logo's from? Kept mine unbadged at the rear and does create a few questions.

Actually, this car belonged to a friend of mine in Seattle. Everything on the car was authentic Ruf. Unfortunately, he sold the car and got out of the Porsche scene.

Doug&Julie 10-18-2009 05:24 PM

Thanks! Not bad...I'd call it an improvement. I think I'd like it better w/o the tail. I still have trouble warming up to the looks of 911 cabs tho. Just me..

SCHNELE 10-19-2009 06:54 AM

Hey Jammo, nice work and in black too, an unforgiving colour for imperfections. The tires that were on the CTR were the Dunlop Denloc.

Jammo 10-20-2009 12:17 PM

Hi Schnele,
Yep, black has to be the most difficult to get right, as you say 'unforgiving'. It took ages to get them right but I still think it was worth the effort.
I assisted a lad who put RSR style arches on his car which was white and to be honest I think you could paint it with a roller and it still would have looked good. White is a colour that just stays 'flat', just the opposite to black.

When it's clean its very clean, when is a little bit dirty it's filthy.

Front lower lip

I've always wondered if I could extend the lower lip spoiler I'd added to my front valance, ala Bill V's attachment method. So I gave it a try. I not only lowered it, but if you look closely I extended it around the corner to the edge of the wheel well similar to the factory lower lip. There's a definite improvement in the stability of the front end at speed, ie over 120 or so at the track. There were places at VIR and MidOhio where the front end would start to get a bit light but now it's better. Still need a splitter to keep the front down but better than before and far better than with the stock bumpers and front lip.

Interesting comparison- same turn at Blackhawk, June vs October

Nice, Ed.

Jammo 11-11-2009 11:23 AM

Hi Ed,
you couldnt say a truer word.
I wanted to restrict as much air as possible going under the car and by plumbing up the ducts to the brakes/cooler, fitting the cooler in the centre and moreso the under lip rubber, the car is much better planted than with the standard front end. The benefit in weight reduction is fantastic and the wind noise has greatly reduced.
I made my under lip from the original lower impact bumper rubber as it is stiff enough to stay rigid under frontal pressure.
Does the car handle better than standard???? 100% better - can see the results of the original development from RUF should have been adopted by Porsche.
Here is mine before the rear arch and flag (air brake) mirror replacement with RUF's.

I like to stock lip addation.

Venting the oil cooler through the hood is believed to make a real improvement.

In the add they state it's an 88 so why does it have the earlier dash?

Wild colour...

I don't think they're original RUF wheels.

They may be Speedline but they don't look right.

I think I remember seeing those on 964 based Ruf models.

Not the same wheels. Look at the profile of the spokes on the front wheel.

Peter, this is build on a 88 930, and they used the same dash in 930 until 89.
New dash was introduced as far as i know in 91 when the new 964 turbo (965) came out

Thinner, yes. Maybe an evolution of the wheel?
