Power Window Switch Relocation

I noticed in the car below, they appear to have relocated the power window switches from the driver's door to the center of their custom dash. I thought this was pretty cool - especially on a car with a speaker delete, since no wires at all would need to be passed into the door.

Has anyone else done this? Am I missing anything?

Pretty simple. Just trace back and rewire.

You still need wires run in each of the doors to the window motors.

Batteries and a remote... too much maintenance.
Contacts on the door and frame that make up on door closure, ultra cool!

Actually I am pretty sure there are circular connectors in the frunk near the hood hinges for the windows. You can disconnect the door wires there and reroute the switch wires.

If I were gonna go through the trouble to run wires for window switches, I would use standard rockers instead of the delicate and pricey Porsche switches and wire it so that there were exactly two independent switches, instead of the weird three-switch stock setup.
