Can't find anyone that sells points for '70 2.2t

So I have checked pelicanparts, aircooled.net, summit racing, gpr parts, and local auto stores. None have the points that is on my dizzy. It's a bosch dizzy and the part number is illegible. The engine is a 1970 or a year up or down and I am not sure if the dizzy is from the same year as the engine either. All the points I have looked at attach 180 degrees opposite of mine. I appreciate any help I can get finding the points or if someone has a set I can buy from them.

Picture is for a reference if it helps anyone.

Aren't they the same as what '60s VW Beetles used?

It's really the only solution, as far as I'm concerned. You simply cannot buy good points anymore - there is not enough demand for them. Everything I own that originally ran points has now been converted to Pertronix, or whatever is equivalent and available fro the particular vehicle. Do yourself a really big favor - ditch the points.

It had pertronix on when I first bought the vehicle but fried three due to it being connected to a hot connection at all times on the relay board. I don't know if it was for the ground or not but the guy that built the engine decided to switch it back to points when I had him look at it cuz I couldn't figure it out at the time. I am just trying to get the car running again after it sitting for 3 years. I will try and switch it back to pertronix later.

O'rilley says they have them. List: Points & Condensers - 1970 Porsche 911 | O'Reilly Auto Parts

Believe it or not, I have been getting all the parts I need for my '67 Beetle from them on-line.

The vw point are the same but not really .It is for a distributor shaft with 4 edges so it is softer then 911 points...the point for 911 have stronger spring on them

Ivan

I'm fairly certain this is what you're looking for?

You have a later model distributor in there, to the best I can tell from your photo (1972 and later).

OK, I just happen to have two distributors on hand. A '70 T, 0 231 159 008 on the left, and a '73 T?, 0 2311 69 008 on the right. The points are different. It looks like Wayne is correct?

Thanks Wayne! When I went under a 1970 911T in the catalog it didn't show this one though...unless I was doing something wrong which is probably the case...

A '70 T originally came with a Marelli distributor. Bosch was as far as I know a replacement. The "E" and "S" of the same era, '69-'70-'71, used a Bosch distributor and probably the same set of points for your 008.
