Standard cable routing and shielding?
I have a 911 SC on which I redid the wiring from the CDI to the distributor and into the loom.
Can someone post pictures on how this wiring in the engine is routed and which material is used to shield this wiring. So basically I am looking at the wiring from the CDI to the top off the engine where it dissappears behind the fan. If you happen to have a source for the material in which it is covered. I would like to stay as close to the original as possible. Thanks already.

Hello - take a look at the link below. I've attached a link to a tech article from our site that has the wiring diagram for your SC. Hope this helps you a bit.

By shielding do you mean the tubing that covers the wires ?
If yes, check this Rhode Island Wiring Service Inc. go to supplies, metal and non metal conduit, vinyl tubing |

I'm in the process of removing the electrical tape used by the PO on the wiring loom on my engine. I just bought a product called Insultherm by techflex. It is a resin saturated fiberglass sleeve that will protect up to 1200°. A place called wirecareDOTcom sells small 3' pieces. Whats nice is it expands so it will fit over small connectors. I used shrink tube to secure the ends. I just started so this is the only pic I have.

Harness tape and vinyl tubing are factory. Rubber sleeve in front section near 14 pin connector where it transitions over to the engine as well.
This one has the shorter easily replaced "green wire" installed. No cover on the original or updated versions of "green wire". "Green wire" exits main harness with coil and oil sender wires.
