I am flying in tomorrow early evening. Looking forward to the class!
|
Thank you Tony and everyone else in the 19-20 class. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there, even with the 14+ hour transit with flights and all. Tony's demystified the seemingly daunting task of 911 engine rebuilding and I can't wait to start mine when the time comes.
Now to find a deal on a set of 3.4 cylinder kits... |
Thanks!
I just wanted to say a big THANKS to Tony and to the other members of the 9/23-9/24 class for a great experience earlier this week. Tony, it was clear that you (and your wife) put a lot of time and energy into organizing this. Thank you! The opportunity to practice several of the assembly steps - especially cam timing - was invaluable for me. Can't wait till my engine parts come back from the machine shop now... Thanks again and wish everyone the best for their rebuilds! :D

Couldn't agree more on the praise for Tony, his wife, and the class. As a bonus, was part of a great group.
@RobertDurff - don't forget to let us know when you're hosting all of us to come help re-assemble your engine! lol - Shannon |

Evan, There were a few European PP members registered in the last WORKSHOP but could not attend due to personal reasons. I could provide their names to you in a private message. Talk and discuss a good time for this group to attend in 2025 and I will make it happen. I will refer to this group as the EURO Group. We need at least 4 people to compose a group. PM me if you are interested. Thanks. Tony |
Thank you Tony, what a great class. Tremendously thankful that you give back to the community by hosting this event. Very much made me remember why I enjoy the aircooled world so much. Can’t wait to apply the skills we learned. Thanks again.

Hi Tony, I want to thank you again for the Sept 16-17 workshop. What a fantastic learning experience! And such a nice group of people to attend with. I also wanted to let you know that I gained a lot of confidence from your teaching and the group. So much so that I returned to Portland OR and immediately proceeded to tear down my 1970 911T engine. I finished it this past Sunday and will take the various parts to an experienced machinist this Thursday in preparation for the rebuild in the winter. I couldn’t have done it without you and Amor, who also worked so hard to make our classes possible. Some pictures from my tear down are attached. Thanks again! Jonathan

I inadvertently posted these pictures in a separate post. Good luck to your next projects. Tony |
This class was recommended to me by a friend. If you do another class I’m in.
|
I just wanted to say a big Thank You to Tony! This was a very interesting and enjoyable class. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to finally attend. Tony is great! I also enjoyed the chance to meet some fellow enthusiasts and enjoyed those conversations as well. I would highly recommend this class to anyone thinking about.

I just came across this discussion and the class. If this course, or any courses like it, are conducted again, please let me know. I'm absolutely interested and have an engine just waiting for a little love and attention.

What can I say! Tony is the most generous person I have met in this Community. His knowledge and understanding of what hobbyist Porsche owners need and are looking for is what sets him apart. Having him contribute his knowledge, knowing where the pitfalls are, and getting us over the "Fear" factor is immeasurable.
A Very Big Thank you to Tony and his very patient wife, who puts up with all of the "Nonsense" Have a great Holiday Season. Kevin |
I can't recommend this class enough. I took the last class and Tony is a gift to the Pelican community. The class was incredibly informative and really demystifies working with these engines. Everyone in the class is incredibly supportive. I would love to take the class again.

Future Engine Rebuild class
I am interested in taking this class if it is run again. I have a 1972 911t Targa that has been sitting for about 20 years in my garage. It was engine was rebuilt in the late 80's.
I would like to get it running again and back on the road. |
Hi Tony,
Just wondering if you have any plans yet to offer any workshops in 2025? I and a friend may be interested. Thanks very much. |
2025 Engine Rebuilding Workshop………..
Thank you for the feedback and encouragement about the recent Engine Rebuilding Workshop in September 2024. I have received several emails inquiring about the next Workshop. It takes a lot of effort and work to organize such undertaking as I get older. The logistics of setting up the venue and transporting the motors and tools needed for the work requires some outside help. I can not do it by myself anymore because of my bad back. Lifting anything more than 30 lbs. gives severe pain in my lower back and had to be careful not to aggravate my herniated discs. As far as my health, I am in better condition than most 80+ years olds.
If there will be enough interest, I like to do another one next year (2025). Tony |
Hi Tony,
As I mentioned earlier, I'm very interested in participating in the next class if it's offered. Please PM me about my availability to help organize and conduct the class. Jim Sullivan |
I’m another that would be happy to attend and to help set up and take down anything required to make it happen.
|
I would love to be part of the 2025 class.
|
Count me in as well.
What are the logistics for getting the tools/engine/etc. moved and set up? Would coming in a day early help? |
Count me in, thanks Tony!
|
I would absolutely love to attend the next workshop. I'm still young and I try to keep my life pretty simple, so I can make time before to lift/move whatever around with the other nice people on this thread.
|
Hi Tony,
I'm am interested in attending a 2025 class too. If scheduling works out, I'm happy to help with setup / take down. I'm driving distance to Philly and might be able to bring a 2.2t for the teardown portion of the class if it would help. |
Hey Tony,
I would be interested in a class as well. I would have to travel, but if the date works out that's not a problem for me. I'm also in the tear down phase with an 82 3.0 and could bring it disassembled and cleaned for the class. |
I'd come in from the west coast, and am happy to fly out early to help set up. Would love to take the class!
|
As mentioned in a PM, I’m absolutely ready to fly in for the class in 2025, count me in!
|
Just found this thread. Another +1 to high interest in participating in a pass if there's one this year.
|
Hey Tony - If the workshop takes place after June 2025, you can count me in. I'd also be willing to come in early to help with set up
|
I would also like to attend as will be building up an Engine for my 82SC
|
Count me in as well!

Today is my Birthday………
It looks like there is enough interest for another Engine Rebuilding Workshop for 2025. I have to check if the room I was using for the workshop would be still available. It looks like a Fall Session (September) might be the next workshop.
These are the tentative schedules: Group #1: Sept. 15/16 Group #2: Sept. 18/19 Group #3: Sept. 22/23 Group #4: Sept. 25/25 Maximum of 8 participants per group as we had before. PM me or sign up here for the dates you plan to attend. I will need the following information for the registrants: Full Name, email address, dates attending. PM or email me your personal information and will keep them confidential. Today is my 82nd. birthday and could do another WORKSHOP this year. Thanks for your interest. So let’s begin the head count. Tony |
Happy Birthday Tony! With many more to come!
Count me in for September 15/16. Thank you for doing this! |
