Instead of dash clock

My dash clock doesn’t work.
What is typically this gauge replaced with if one doesn’t need it?
Digital gauge clock? Red rpm light?
Wondering what are the options out there.

Thank you

There's some cool ideas floating out there. I've seen people put AFR/o2 gauges, added dash vent. I cant remember who exactly, but one member did a alternator warning light that looked really cool imo.

I'm partial to the clock myself, but mine still works....at the moment

EDIT: I was actually thinking of the Low Pressure Warning light by Patrick motorsport. Probably a bit much for a street car..

Is your car otherwise stock? If so, send the clock out for repair. If not stock, put whatever you like in that hole.

A lot of racers put an oil pressure warning light in that spot, but I’d also recommend simply getting the clock fixed.

There are threads where I've seen a combo gage of items not currently in your cluster.
Have seen 3 items grouped. Voltage and AFR come to mind. Clock maybe as the third is still nice to glance at when at the track lapping.

Thank you.
Yes I don’t care about GE clock I want something else, something cool.
It’s a street car.

Maybe rpm shift light.

I put the low oil pressure light from Patrick Motorsports in that spot after getting tired of seeing the broken clock read 9:11 all the time. It's a street car that hopes to grow up to be a race car one day.

For me personally it wouldn't be the best place for a shift light as its not really in my line of vision. If the shift light thing is huge, them maybe it would get your attention regardless. Hope it has an on/off switch. Might get annoying if driving the car on the street.

I sent my clock to North Hollywood Speedometer and had it converted to quartz.

It's indistinguishable from the original, (except that it works : )

pull the clock and resolder the low temp solder fuseable link. Takes less than 5 min to remove cover and fix. Then have a working clock again.

kavadarchi -- the issue you're going to have with something like an upshift light is that you'd need something to trigger the light -- on a carrera, this is built into the DME, don't think there's an equivalent on the cis engines (FWIW, I disconnected my carrera's upshift light as it was programmed to upshift for maximum fuel economy and was more of a distraction than a feature) -- as you get more familar with your targa, I suspect you'll find that you'll "feel" when it's time to upshift, as you'll run out of power as you hit the redline -- further, damaging overrevs generally are the result of a missed shift (selecting second instead of 4th) sending the revs WAY up over 10k, rather than simply not shifting at redline . ..

Got it, thank you for all your feedback.

I never Ted line the car anyways but was looking for something “cooler” instead of a clock.
