1976 912E rear sway bar
Does anyone know if the 912E came stock with a rear sway bar ? If not was it an option ?
I would imagine that the 1976 911 must have had a rear sway bar and would like to think that if I procured one from a 76 911 that it would correctly mount to the 76 912E. Any thoughts or experience on this ? thanks Dennis |

Yes, the factory rear stabilizer was an option. Any rear stabilizer from 74 on should work. You will need to buy everything; so it would be best to buy a new rear set. also you will need the factory templates to weld the pieces and the pin in the trailing arm.
There are some after market companies that make rear anti-sway bars. |

If you don't want to weld there are kits that bolt on as well ( C-bolt around the torsion tube, etc. )
here's one aftermarket product; Weltmeister has been around quite a while http://www.weltmeister.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=358

Sorry, wasn't aware that the 912E carried a 11 lb weight under the transaxel mount. Otherwise any 74-on rear factory stabilizer would of worked.

So, why doesn't every owner remove it?
