912 : need help ... matching numbers and color or not ???
Hi

Both engine and chassis are for 68. The chassis # is for an early 68. The 30th chassis for 68 and the engine is for a little later a 616/39. The # for slate grey is 6801 found on the door jam.
You have to get the Kardex from Porsche America to be sure. |

Slate grey is 6801, look on the plate by the drivers door hinges 912 Registry :: Factory Paint Code Table
1280030 is a '68 Karmann coupe and the motor is in the range for a '68 US car, does the seller have a Porsche factory Certificate of Authenticity? 912 Registry | VIN Table
