What size tires are you running? Just a thought...I put some 205's on my '75 and have a light rub on the inner fender.

Hey-
I'm new on Pelican. This site is great fun! I think the answer may lie in "Everything looked right yesterday when I looked at it up in the air." Could a spring have gotten unseated? I'm just speculatin'. |

My tires are stock, not even close to rubbing.. that was one perplexing thing, I have surely stuffed too much rubber under these things a time-or-two.
SPRING UNSEATED! Makes that kind of sound.. I think you may be right, I'll get up under it tomorrow, and report back soon. Thanks again! M

Dearest Dave,
Otto just put the CV thingys together, but not the bearings... would they rub more one way, than the other? I don't think this is a CV noise. Tod: That was the Dixie Chicks. Jim.. that would suck.. will check it out today, when I am as far away from this St. Patricks thing as I can get, and find a pothole deep enough to get my head in.... better take a snorkle too.. Good-freaking-bye Savannah! M

Don't you mean "Darling Dave"???
![]() A right-side wheel bearing would make more noise when its wheel was more heavily loaded, i.e. when the car is turning to the left. They usually make a low rumbling kind of noise, but in other cars (with really wasted bearings!) I have heard a scraping noise when turning. --DD

LOL Dave..
AND THE WINNER IS: THE NEWBIE!! SGB!! YOU ARE A GENE-UES! I put it up on a rack today, and the spring on that side is missing the whatever holds the spring in place at the top.. the top spring holder guide thingy. heh The mechanic (young guy) almost pooped when we put it down, and the spring popped in.. Thanks so much fellas, it's awesome to have the experience here to draw from! M
