Injector Plug and THermotime Switch ??
Question 1: I can't seem to locate my thermotime switch. I have a wire comming out of my harness that is supposed to plug into it but I can't find it. The hayes manual shows it right by the dizzy towards the back of the car but its not there. I do have a sensor that screws into the engine but that is the oil pressure. Is the thermotime switch critical for smooth operation?
Question 2: attached is a picture that I drew. It is supposed to be the plug that goes into the injector. These things plug in either way so which way is the right way? The plug is keyed with 2 small notches on it. Do these notches coincide with the 2 notches on the actual injector? Thank you for all the help. Luke

Hi Luke...
The fuel injector plugs can plug oin either way, it does not matter. The TTS grounds a circuit, depending on engine temp, which controls the cold start valve. Its not important for what you are doing, or where you live. The cold start valve only enriches the mixture on really cold days, on start up only, then the CSV should turn off as the engine warms up. |

Thank you Jeff.
Another question regarding the FI control unit. I hooked up my harness, double checked all connections. I read that with the key to the on position I should be able to open the throttle and hear my injectors click. I tested all the injectors for clicking while they were out and they all clicked. Now when I turn the key to "on" and move the throttle I hear nothing. I am wondering if my control unit is bad. Where does the control unit get power? I have hunted all through the wiring diagrams but I don't see anything that catches my eye. How do I test the control unit? Luke |

WOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!
After searching the forums I found an article that lead me to checking all the connections on the relay board. I pulled the FI harness connector, cleaned it and used some dialectric grease, then re-seated it a few times. I also did this with the other harness at the relay board, used a razor blade to spread the x nothched terminals and applied some grease. Now when I move the throttle I hear my injectors. I turn the engine a bit and I can hear the other bank. Looks like my injector points are functioning also. Now all I need is my fuel pump, cross my fingers and hope she starts. If it were not for this forum I would be broke from mechanic bills and I would probably still have nothing to show for it. Plus I think it is far more exciting to do all this myself. Thank you everyone for all the help. Luke |

I don't recall which engine you have, but it's obviously a 1.7 or 2.0 with D-jet.
The 2.0 TTS is on a bracket that is attached to the manifold, but it's down underneath the manifold. It sits horizontally, and has a plug on the one end that the wire plugs onto. --DD
