Porsche Crest A few questions

First off, are the SSI stainless heat exchangers any more free flowing than the stock 2.0 exchangers?

Second, I might me intrested in buying a long block that has been tweeked out, barrels, heads, cam, etc. or some mix along the $$ vs. power curve. Does anyone recomend a particular engine builder?

The SSI dont show any difference.

See Jake for an engine.

He can ship via Forward Air cheap. Pickup for you would be near SFO. http://www.forwardair.com/

You might want to do some reading first.

Locally, you can talk to Rich Bontempi at High Performance house about building a motor.

The SSIs have a slightly larger diameter than the stock exchangers, and I believe flow a little better. The difference may be "down in the noise" in terms of HP, though. But it's worth it to never have to worry about those suckers rusting again!

I've seen it before, but I don't remember the URL. You can check in Pelican's convenient on-line catalog for pricing, though. We do carry SSIs.

The 1.7 ones have been NLA for many years. The 2.0 ones are still available, and can be bolted to a 1.7 or 1.8 as long as you use a 2.0 muffler and muffler hanger. (And the complete 2.0 exhaust and heater ducting setup can be bolted onto the 75-76 1.8s and 2.0s.)
