Used 2.0 throttle body vs. new($$$) 1.8 throttle body
Anything wrong with putting a 2.0 throttle body in a 1.8?

Will it even fit? I don't remember if the attachments are the same or not.
Make sure you use the throttle position switch from the 1.8 TB, as the 2.0 (D-jet) ones are quite different. --DD

Dave, you're right again - they're not exactly the same outlet size but I figured a little bit of minor engineering and I could make it work. I'll check the tps.
Christopher, mine is OK with the exception of the butterfly plate sticking in the closed position which makes for unsmooth gas pedal action. If yours doesn't do this, I'm interested. How much?

no need to purchase a new 1.8 t/b.....tons of decent used ones out there....(I've got a few myself if you cannot find one local)
the 2.0 t/b's mount to the plenum with a flat to flat mating the 1.8's have a rounded fitting on the plenum and a strange rubber gasket. You'd have to machine the inside of the 2.0 t/b to get it to have the proper radius for sealing. are you sure it's the t/b and not the TPS that is causing the sticking??

Mike - yeah, I'm positive about the cause of the sticking. It's the brass butterfly plate chewing into the bore of the t/b. There's even a rough groove worn into the bore. The reason it does this is because there is no stop designed into the body for the butterfly valve to rest against at 100% closed. The slightly angled edge of the plate itself acts as the stop. Poor design. If you have one that doesn't dig in, I'm interested.
