Source of battery drain.

I left the battery in the car and leads connected over night. The following day, I found the battery had drained to 6v. The ignition switch was off, lights off and no radio. I did a continuity test of the pos pole and do not see a connection to ground. None of the proximal wires are hot. How do you identify the source of the drain?

I had a similar problem. I connected my digital multimeter between the battery post and cable and set to measure current. Then watched the meter, which was showing about 150 mA or so of current with ignition off, and pulled each fuse loose one at a time. I traced the current leakage down to the seat belt interlock relay under the passenger seat. I just disconnected the thing and got rid of it.

I bet that is my problem as well. I have that relay present and it is very warm. No problem in removing the relay?

Remove the relay, splice together the fat yellow wires that go to the relay socket. Use heat-shrink tubing on the splice to keep water and other contaminants out of the joint. Otherwise you'll be chasing a no-start problem in a few more years.
