Performance Questions...
I have a 1.8 914 and I bought 96mm flat top jugs and pistons and a Web Cam 426 lift 262 duration. I am hoping for 100HP, could someone help in advice... I talked to a local shop in tujunga but to check and build my motor they want $800. Anyone know any good builders but reasonably priced? Also is the Bosch 050 Distributor better than stock?
I live in the Glendale, CA area but work in Orange so anything along the way is fine. Drop me a line (818)551-1735.

You'll get more responses to your question here but I can tell you that paying someone to work on your 914 is not cheap.

$800 is cheap for a rebuild on a 914 engine. I'd worry that the builders would cut lots of corners for that kind of money.
![]() DIY, or pay someone big bucks. You can talk to the guys at FAT Performance in Orange, they've been pretty good in the past. But don't be surprised if the $$ is a lot more. --DD
