Post tranny rebuild questions

What is the average cost of rebuilding a transmission?

Cost of someone supplying a rebuilt transmission?

Are trannys more intense to rebuild than engines?

I rebuilt mine, not all that expensive. I replaced three syncros, one bearing, and all seals (from pelican).
Only problem is, setting the gear backlash and bearing pre-load requires some unusual tools.
Unless you are very experienced with manual transmissions and/or differentials, leave it to an expert.
A decent transaxle can usually be found for around $250 in the junk yards, but will probably need a first and maybe a second gear syncro. No guaranties.
