Source for 914-6 conversion kit?

Hi guys

I have been considering doing a 914-6 conversion for a good while. I was really impressed with the Motor Meister web page which would sell me a completely rebuilt engine with carbs, flywheel, oil tank, exhaust, engine tin, etc.

Unfortunately, I have learned through this forum that they are not what they seem. So that makes me wonder if anyone else sells a "kit" engine setup. I was looking at his 175hp 2.4l setup or perhaps the 3.2 which did seem too expensive.

I do not know any good air-cooled guys around my area so any help would be appreciated.

Tony

The only place I know of that sells a "complete conversion kit" is Patrick Motorsports in Phoenix AZ. They have all the stuff to put any size engine and trans combo in the car you want. Their 1st generation conversion engine mount was a mess and not designed real well and tried to use the existing 4 frame mount setup and flexed way too much. Their current system is used by a lot of vintage racers and is great and actually allows the engine/tranny assy to be tilted down at the rear for work. All the other pieces are good quality too. They are also expensive, by some accounts, but I have used them and had no failures in 4 years of racing, about 28 events since converting to a six.

Lots of bad Mojo regarding motor "sch"iester. x2 on the Patrick folks for sourcing components. 911 motor run the gamut from 2.0L 110hp to 3.8l 300hp. How much do you want to spend? Don't forget to budget stuff like brakes and suspension into the equation as well.

We sell individual pieces, but no complete "kit".

You can learn plenty of not good things about Motor Meister from any Porsche forum.
They proudly proclaim that they do things differently, that's the problem.
