Lucky me! found a box of parts, swapped out the injectors, turned the car over in about 2 minutes. I had to jump start it for some reason. I think the battery that was new just needed an extra boost.

I let the car run for about 5 minutes, which produced quite a bit of smoke. I had put a tablespoon or so of oil in each spark plug hole a few days before to help lube it up, so I'm sure that's what was burning off.

The car idled pretty well, although at 2500 rpm. The accelerator cable feels pretty tight, so I guess I have to lube it up too or replace it. I plan on rebuilding the pedal cluster at some point.

Any thoughts on why the car idles so high? I couldn't manually tweak the throttle body to drop it down, in case it was stuck. I'd like to now go in and give a once over to whatever needs it before its road worthy.

Congrats!

As far as the high idle, first check for vacuum leaks, second check for vacuum leaks, and third check for vacuum leaks.

Also check timing and aux. air regulator.
