My first 914 - 914/6 GT project

Hi guys,
Been mostly active in the 930 turbo forums.
Now I just bought my first non-turbo Porsche, a 914/6 project from a guy at 914world forum.
The car and engine has some hours of work before car is ready, but in the end it will be good.

The car has a 71' 2.2 liter 911T engine. According to seller rebuilt about 5000 miles ago and has more aggressive cams in it. Have not verified what cams yet, but seller thought it could be S-cams.

911T front suspension and rear hubs machined for 5-lug Fuchs.

I guess there will be times that I need your expertise from this forum :-)

First thing that I look for is more of a factory 914-6 engine mount towards the firewall.

Does anyone have the measurements or even drawings so that I can fabricate my own?

Something like this

Something like the AIR Group 5 bumper, perhaps? Both front and rear have been molded into the body. Not a look I'm all that fond of, but it looks like it was done relatively well from your pictures.

We don't have drawings for you to copy. However, our hosts do sell the above mount:
Porsche 914-6 Conversion - Page 6

You've got the tail-shift transmission on there, but no rear shift rod. Make sure all the parts are good and eliminate all the slop you can, or you'll have the mop-in-a-bucket shifter.

Thanks Dave.
All parts should be there, even the shifter rod.
But that said, I have not seen the car yet. Will probably not see it in about 6 weeks when it arrives in Norway:-)

BTW, not really fond of the molded bumpers either.

Yeah, the front bumper looks a lot like the A.I.R. Group 5 bumper:

American International Racing

Or maybe their IMSA style bumper:

Think you are right about the IMSA style bumper.

I have been roughly over the car and it has very little rust so far.

The "hellholes" is not that bad.

The car has been repainted, but the original color is under. Original Color is Tangerine red.
Will take some work to strip it down and remove the new paint.
If they had made a great job by sanding down before repainting some areas the paint would not slip.

I have never seen these "RSR" like spoiler on any other 914's

It's like the one they used on the Martini RSR
