Pertronix Ignitor II - Car won't start

Last night I installed the Pertronix Ignitor II ignition module and the Flame Thrower coil. The car cranks but does not start. I had already changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, as well as the fuel filter.

What should I check in troubleshooting the problem? Thanks.

Check for spark. Use an extra plug taped to a ground, and look to see if there are sparks when the starter cranks. If not, you may have blown the Pertronix.

If there is spark, check for fuel.

I checked and had no spark. If I blew out the Pertronix, could I have done any additional electrical damage or do I simply replace the Pertronix or go back to points and condenser?

Did you wire the Pertronics igniter correctly,go back to your old system and check if its starts that will confirm it,strange situation as the instructions say all, hope you sort it as these units are very good.

Thanks everyone. The Pertronix Ignitor II I received is part # 91847V, which is for a vacuum advance distributor. My Bosch 009 distributor has mechanical advance and should be using module part # 91847A. Will this cause no spark and the engine to not start? Thanks again.

There is a chance the pick-up unit is not positioned properly on the advance plate with the wrong kit installed , I have 009 with Ignitor 1 and 034 with Hotspark kit (same system differant name) but to be honest never checked the difference in module base plates.
Is the magnet assembly hard down on the shaft, they are very tight to get on with the Pertronics one, less so with the Hotspark kit.
If you still have the vacuum dizzy you could try that with the kit ,it will preform better than the 009 if you are running carbs for instance, the advance curve is more suited to the T4 motor.
Did you try to start with the old system installed?
