Hey guys, so I put everything back together with the new contitech belt, turned the car on. Car runs veryyy rough, clicking noise ( scared that I bent my valves again)... and when I shut it off, checked my marks, my cam mark was way off, so took it apart again, did it all again, tuned the car on, anddd same ****, cam mark was way off, soo I don't know guys, how is the mark being way off if I timed everything perfectly, I don't understand

Yes and I did follow everything as planned, the thing is that when I time everything, it's all good, marks are lined up, I turn the engine twice sure, everything good, but then when I turn the car on, then shut it off, the cam mark is way off, and I'm pretty sure the belt didn't skip, so how else could the timing be off, when everything I did was perfect, like I tightened all the marks where the are suppose to be, but how is that after turning it on and off, the mark is off, I don't understand. Is there something messed up internally, like did this ever happen to anyone...

The cam key/gear could be toast. Been there, didn't bend a valve.

You've probably got slack in the timing belt when you set the timing, and when the slack evens out your timing is off. It should not run rough though, just be down on power. When you see the timing is off, drop the tension, jump the belt to correct the timing, re-set the tension (just guess), and turn over a couple times. Then check the mark again. Then set the initial tension as per the procedure. If you are still having trouble you can make some more timing marks on your sprockets to see if that sheds any light.
It's hard to imagine the crank sprocket slipping in relation to the crank but there is little else that could cause a timing shift if the belt is tight and indeed the timing is shifting.

The woodruff key can get worn, damaging the camshaft in which it rest, and the cam gear. This causes the car to run rough and obliviously upsets the timing.
I have pictures somewhere here showing the failure. Ill see if I can dig them up.

Here is what my cam gear looked like after the bolt broke. Cam shaft was ruined as well.

I had not thought of a blown cam key, thought that'd be obvious when installing the cam, seal, etc.

The bolt can break, which is what causes the above.
