What did you do to your car today?
Will like to start thread which will give us and idea of what peoples are up to when it come to doing their cars maintenance on a daily basis.DIY pics will be nice if possible but not necessary.Even if it's only the most common maintenance like changing oil & filter or giving her a good wax let us know.Since Porsche weather is around the corner up here & the car will soon be coming out of storage I'll start with mine. Here is what I done since yesterday morning, clean brakes & calipers all around-clean the wheels-clean rear CV joint boots & shocks-redone the floor mats (they are OEM) but were a little fade.Lol since I'm known to be a pics maniac here & on RL I couldn't do all that work without sending a few. Can't hardly wait to give her a good spin to get them rotors shiny again

Looks like you got plenty of stuff done today!
I lifted my hood, thought about it, closed the hood again. ...Still need lots of parts before I can make real progress on mine (getting some go-fast).

I pulled my exhaust and transmission in hopes of getting to the clutch yet tonight to diagnose the clutch failure.
I have a 4 into 1 header I may put on and might do the rear suspension bushings. Speedy ![]()

I put my new car cover on mine, since it's rainy and crappy out. I did order a new case of oil for it, and took inventory of my oil filters (only one left, time to order more).

I opened up the hood then sat on a 5 gallon bucket and sighed.

washed mine. I had the hood open to dry it out after the wash and noticed one of my spark plug wires was loose and not even connected to the plug. So I popped it back on.
Wonder what an extra cylinder is going to do to my performance!

I also had a collapsed bumper shock - I have steel shelving in my garage, I supported the shock in a joint made up of angle iron and I whanged on it with a BMF hammer. It reluctantly returned to duty and has been installed back on the bumper for about 4 months. Be careful when you remove your bumper if you have headlight washers - the pipes will be very brittle and crazy glue doesn't work.
Today, tested the sunroof circuitry but still have not found out why my roof will not unlock. Next I have to check the belt tensions as there is a fairly loud whine (not coming from the owner). By the way, Dave, I understand there are rules against using Porsches for nefarious purposes... Last edited by xsbank; 03-24-2012 at 07:20 PM.. |

Shifter linkage
Replaced very worn out shifter linkage. Nice crisp shift pattern now.

What a timely and neat thread. Among a whole host of stuff, I rebuilt my control arms and installed a 3" sport exhaust system...
