What I did was used my hand dandy pocket knife and cut around the lens 4-5 times

Then I went by the adjuster screw and slipped my knife under the lens as far as I could and prayed up back and forth with the prying and getting the knife as far as I could til I heard the silicon to start letting go ( didn't take a lot of pressure with ) you will know when the silicon is letting go by the sound.

Then I used the knife and some steel wool and rubbing alcohol and cleaned out the Chanel where the lens fits. I used black silicon and a rubber band to keep even pressure as the silicon set. Looks good can't tell it was home done!!!!

[QUOTE=POPS 83 944;7311476]Started the next suggestion by Ernie9944

Looking good there _POPS_can't hardly wait for the end result beside the way your doing it is less involve that the way I did mine since it's just a matter of changing the glass. What I did with mine was cut the OEM casing in half then glue the complete BOSCHE PILOTE assembly inside the casing.Like mention lot of work but the avantage is that it take only a couple of minutes to remove the complete unit if you need to change a burn out bulb versus at least fifteen minutes for the OEM one because of their set up. See pics

Only two screw to remove:

Complet assembly out:
Reinstall:

Don't worry it will work just the same with your clear glass,I'm 100% sure you'll find a big difference in driving ligths ouput. When I did mine I had either choice I choose the later one like I said because of it's advantage.Btw if you ask me Porsche could at come out with a better & easier idea when it came to the fog/driving ligths removal/ installation on the NA or the Turbo/S2.Not because I own one but take for example the 968 signals/driving ligths lol in a matter of minutes & without hassle you can change a broken lens or a bulb,so simple really.

picking up where I finished off nearly about a month ago, I finished taking out the old bushings from my 968 arms and then started giving them a clean. The last bushing needed a slide hammer to get it out.

A lot of crud on there but they're coming along. not too sure how OCD to be, whether to go whole hog and then paint them or just give them a good clean.

Collection of parts of been hoarding for nearly a year for this swap. need dust boots and rubber bump stops for my struts.

Pushed it up onto a new concrete slab so I can change the rod bearings. Kinda looking forward to it, provided I don't find anything horrible inside...
This camera makes my car look much better than it really is, needs a paint job badly.

Went out in the garage to do something to my 944. Forgot what it was. Cleaned something and it looks better. Had a great cigar, and later a cocktail, while looking over the car for things to do next time. But its damm cold out there and I came back in. Spring is just around the corner.

Good job __POPS__looking good, not 100% sure but I don't think you'll be able just to buy the reflector since they are usually sold as lens/reflectors combo & are quiet expensive.Guess your best bet will be to start looking for use one in good shape.Or your other option will be to paint the old one with (crome paint) such as Dupli-Color Metal Cast or Bowman chrome/aluminum enamel #24701.

I'm just going to keep my eyes open out at the pick a parts for a good set! On to the next endeavor, install my new radio this weekend and put the new door speakers in. Already did the rear quarter panel speakers in with new wires ran up to the front, also might try and install my turbo defuser(just have to figure out where to drill the holes) on my 83 944. Read the posts on doing this and they were all done on new style 944's with the holes already drilled and the only time I've seen a turbo was in pitcher. Makes it a little harder to judge than seeing in person. Any measurement Ernie? ? Would help out a lot!!!

Finally getting good weather so I can uncover her and finish the trunk carpet this weekend. Several more days of furiously non-stop attacking engine obstacles and a to-good-to-pass-up deal on a FBird Formula has led to there being some major heart surgery this weekend.

Did a little search for you, like you said lots of pics but no measurement, surely some one here did a 951/S2 diffuser installation on an early car hope they chip in.Btw here another of my silly idea, this time with speakers, lol notice the one in the glove boxehad the other in the same location under the dash on the driver side, migth seem like an out of the boxe installation (for the sound system Gurus) but you know what they did do the job just fine of course I'm 67 years old & my taste for music shall we say is little retro, well I love Pink Floyd. In the rear wheels well:

Ernie, before we had Porsches. What was it like driving a dinosaur to work? Or did you fly a pterodactyl

Horn push makeover

Well as the weather here is a bit too wet to work on the car itself, I decided it was time to do something with the horn push on my Momo steering wheel. The chrome bezel ring was starting to flake and looked tatty, so I took it off to see what could be done:

Decided to remove all the chrome and polish the alloy ring to match the wheel, used a mini-drill (dremel type) to do this. Then removed the leather layer from the horn push and cut a slightly oversize Porsche crest shaped hole in the plastic underneath. The new crest was from a key ring, one of the slightly bigger ones. Then cut a disc of polythene as a backing for the crest. Cut a piece of leather to fit and stuck it on the horn push. Carefully cut that so I could push the crest into it for the embossed look. Used double sided super-sticky foam tape to hold it all together:

Dodged the rain drops and fitted it to the car:

I think it is an improvement and it matches the brushed silver and black theme of the interior....

Last of the carpet is in and I cut myself again. I would have been better off with a burgundy interior.
