5 digit odo's were common up through mid 1980's

Porsche changed them over on the 944 starting with series 2 (85.5+)

911\930 have always had the 6 digit odos

OK. Will the 911/930 speedo fit in the early 944's so I can get six digits? Guess I might loose the GPM gauge.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

What mileage? The odo-meter has not worked for 10 years.

If the guts are the same then it could be a transplant.

So, just checking. You'd like to have a working odo again and decided that you want a six digit instead of five? Personally, I'd stick with the original for, well, originality's sake. Unless it's your daily driver, you probably don't want to put too many miles on the car for it to be a concern anyway. Or am I misunderstanding what you want to do?
