"HEY CJ,
with the work you were doing to clean up the afm etc. did you accidentally pull loose a vacuum hose? Didn't think so.... " Well, I INTENTIONALLY pulled off the vacuum hoses in order to ascertain that the passages were clear (with a pin). This was recommended to me on Pelican. I am pretty sure I connected them all again ![]() Actually, the car usually runs pretty well... there is a noticable difference between hot and humid days and cool, clear nights, however. I am fairly sure my bad clutch (which will be replaced within a month or so, I promise ![]() I do feel, however, that there is also some minor gremlin in the fuel system. I am thinking that it has something to do with the AFM or engine temp sensor, since the car's performance seems to change with the weather. OK now I'm gonna look like a huge friggin newbie here, but, um, where is the damn engine temp sensor?? I tried to locate it and failed terribly (no one ever said I was a GOOD or KNOWLEDGEABLE do-it-yourselfer). A pic would be super helpful. Thanks guys... this problem is most definitely not a major one - most people probably wouldn't even care - but I want my car to run as well as possible, and you've all been great so far.

CJ, i have the same problem with my 83. Let it sit for a few hours, it'll stumble and then be fine. Someone suggested to me that it could be condensation in the AFM. FRWilk has some pics of the inside of it, and the sensor runs along a track. If that track gets condensation on it, it will misread giving the fuel system a false reading until it clears itself up. So if you're brave enough to open it, it might be worth checking it out. I might do it this weekend, so i'll post and let you know what i find.
