... Rib's and others...

some THINK you see me behind every rock, hidden in every shadow. The reality is that I don't play here any more... (why am I here now... Sometimes I come by and search on my name or ID. This post and a few other mention my ID so for laugh's, I take a look at how paranoid some folks can be)

... for this Craig thing, my best advice, if you don't like it, dont read it...

Look, not just paint. And it was 70-100 that i said.
I was repeating what i was TOLD.
I didn't do that stuff. I don't even know exactly what they did, cuz there was still damage on the fenders from previous wrecks...

Pulling low 7s and high 6s on a 944 NA shouldn't be too hard especially if you have mods. From what i have heard, Craig's car is pretty light since he had taken a whole buncha ***** out of it. Before the ring and pinion went on my NA tranny i was pullin 6.8-7.0 0-60s. Its not impossible. Some of you act like the first people that said nobody can get a honda to run a quarter mile lower than 17 seconds...and now we have rice rockets. From the way I see it; learn from other people and their projects on these cars. I wouldn't be calling anyone liers on this board especially fellow Porsche members... ya'll need to get along seriously...

Six-second 0-60's with what, plug wires, a chip, a header and MAYBE 100 lb. less weight?
Smiles, everyone, smiles, because you've been spending some quality time with Mr. Roarke and Tattoo.

That's exactly my point, no internal mods, a few lbs less weight and voila you're doing sub 7 0-60 (and with the experiance you have of driving a stick, you're 16 right?), I don't think so. Craig, the thing is you assume stuff, I don't care what you've been told. Word your post as "I've been told that my paint is 70 to 100lbs lighter than stock, assuming that's true, etc. etc." and NOT "My car weighs 100lbs less because of the paintwork". What you've been TOLD is BS, I'm annoyed by you taking it as a fact, and posting it as such also. See if you worded your post as my first example, I would've responded: "that's total BS", and all would be well. With me? I hope so.

PS: Today I installed a new battery in my car that's 11.5 lbs lighter than what came out. I've removed my cat (I'm going to cut the housing open, and weld a straight pipe in when I get the time), gotten better tires/lighter rims, changed my spark plugs, and just saved 11+ more lbs since my last timed 0-60 run (I'm planning to remove the rotor shields, to construct a brake cooling kit in the next few weeks too while I'm at it, and I haven't forgotten the supercharger, will keep you guys updated). Does all this constitute a new 0-60 test? Hardly, why? Because all that probably don't add up to even .05 secs, be realistic.
Ahmet

Craig, I'm in Cary, North Carolina.

Phat-S, I'm going to try for that event at CMP, probably w/a friend of mine who's a Z-Club member (Local division I believe. Ilkiz, with a white 300zx tt). However, I may still be in RI or NY by then. If you're interested get in touch with me by Oct 25, and I'll tell you for sure. Are you going? I'm going to do both days of DEs if I'm there, don't know about the time trial. We should push this to other 944 enthusiasts, I know there's more than a few down in Charlotte (met Keith last year at the 24 hour auto-x, speaking of which when's that this year?).

Good idea Blackfoot...I'll put up another $200 that in a rented 5sp V-6 Honda Accord, I will beat Euro in his "Eurospec" NA through the 1/4 mile.

After all, we're all located within the state - why not get together? You and I could take turns taking money from Eurospec.

As for Craig, I'll take the race with the 5sp V-6 Solaro vs. his NA anyday for twice the $$$.

With all these guys claiming outrageous hp, 0-60, and 1/4 mile times I have yet to see or hear about one run through the 1/4 mile at a real dragstrip or one real dyno run.

Its time to put up or shut up. Agreed?

I would definately like to do an Auto-x asafp - I want to see how ill equiped I am for solo II. I will be at Triangle and Sandlapper (the week before). We usually stay at Executive Inn (questionable place but it is close by and relatively cheap). Let me know if you know of any auto-x dates in the near term.

I just got two front tires in for this. Only need a backup set of Hawk Blues and might even buy a new set of rotors just in case. And hopefully I will have a video camera for this event (finally!).

Oh, your buddy with Triangle and the white TT; was he per chance at a CMP event with NASA a few months ago?
